During its existence, IFER has built a strong position on the international scene and has cooperated on projects in more than 40 countries across five continents. IFER offers its partners reliability, initiative, flexibility, and creativity in the search for effective solutions for research projects, along with strong technical and technological expertise and the ability to operate efficiently in new and unfamiliar environments.
To date, IFER has cooperated with almost all major forestry institutions in Europe, including FAO, EFI, the Joint Research Centre, and the majority of forestry universities. In addition, IFER has collaborated with numerous institutions in North and South America, Africa, and Asia.
An important part of IFER’s international expert activities consists of training courses focused on the use of Field-Map, a technology for computer-aided field data collection. Many colleagues from forestry organizations around the world have completed these trainings, for example from Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Romania, Iceland, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia, Cape Verde, Uganda, Peru, Venezuela, Malaysia, and many other countries.
